Humane Society, NIKE Asked To Cut Ties With Vick
Posted by Matt Loede on June 20th, 2007 filed in Michael Vick Case
The president of the Humane Society of the United States is urging Nike to terminate its commercial association with Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick for his alleged role in dog fighting. A letter from Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society was sent to Nike president and CEO Mark Parker on Tuesday urging the footwear company to dissassociate itself with Vick who has not been charged with any crime. An investigation is ongoing following an August 25th seizure of 66 dogs on the Surry County, Virginia property Vick owns. So far, Nike says it has no immediate plans to terminate its association with the star quarterback.
