Falcons receiver Brian Finneran will be out for the entire 2007 season after re-injuring his left knee during rehab back in May. The team disclosed the bad news on Thursday as coach Bobby Petrino told the media that Finneran will miss the season. It’s the second straight year that Finneran will miss, and reports say that this second major injury to the same knee could be career threatening. Finneran had reconstructive surgery on the left knee already last week.

Finneran was a playmaker for Atlanta before the injury, as in 05 he led the team with 60 catches for 611 yards and two TD’s. The 31-year-old, 6-foot-5, 210 pound receiver has played 8 seasons in the league, his first with the Eagles in which he caught just two passes. He then came to the Falcons, where in 2002 he had his best season, catching 56 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns.
