Will Vick Face Suspension for Indictment?
Yahoo’s Jason Cole is reporting that Falcons QB Michael Vick will be suspended by the NFL following his indictment. Vick was handed charges on Tuesday related to dog fighting and running a dog fighting ring on his property in Surry County, Virgina. Cole states that commish Roger Goodell, who met with Vick in April, has been watching the situation. Cole quoted a league source in the article stating: “Where (Vick) is in the most trouble is that he lied to the commissioner,” the league source said. “He told (Goodell) in April that he didn’t know anything about this. The commissioner gave (Vick) every chance to come clean, be straight about what was going on. Instead, he just kept denying it.”
What will happen now is anyone’s guess. I would expect the league to sit back awhile and wait to see how fast things move, then make a decision on when and for what amount of time to suspend Vick. Of course the president of the US Humane Society is telling Goodell to take immediate action, but no group is going to tell the NFL what to do at this point.
Vick has made his own bed, and now he will be forced to lie in it. The basic story is that the Falcons put their trust in a man that was running a sick and twisted activity on his property that would land anyone in jail for a considerable amount of time. Atlanta has to do whatever it can to protect itself, and it may be wise to simply right now distance themselves from Vick and this whole case. While they will no do anything drastic like release him, they are not going to go out of their way to send “best wishes” cards to him either. Vick will have to pay for his crimes at somepoint. It’s just a shame that the Falcons and the league are going to have to be dragged down with him to some extent.

WHERE IS ARTHUR BLANK IN ALL THIS AND WHY HAS HE NOT PUBLICLEY DENOUNCED THE ARTROCITIES THAT VICK HAS DONE??? VICK HAS DEFACED HIS TEAM AND THE OWNERS AND WHY ARE THEY NOT BEING MORE RESPONSIBLE IN THIS HORRIBLE, UGLY SICK EVENT
OPEN LETTER TO THE ATLAMTA FALCONS:
How can your organization sit back and NOT issue a statement about the idiot, Michael Vick, and express your disappointment of one of your players that is raking in MILLIONS EACH YEAR. “lET THE JUSTICE SYSTEM DO IT’S WORK” is a stupid thing to say about this situation.
There is a problem in this country of people using INNOCENT animals for monatary gain and this is the lowest of all.
Pitiful animals being starved, chained and MADE to fight for this idiot’s personal satisfaction is a mortal sin.
Don’t tell me that he did not know what was going on, on the property that he OWNED, but that will be his excuse, I’m sure.
Well, then he should have known who was living on his property and just like someone falls and hurts himself while in my home, I AM RESPONSIBLE.
Instead of this FOOL having a children’s camp or something to benefit children on his LARGE ESTATE, he runs a dog fighting ring.
His punishment should be put into a pen of pit bulls, that have been fought, starved and chained and “LET EM GO”.
I WILL NEVER WATCH OR GO TO ANOTHER FALCON GAME AS LONG AS I LIVE IF YOU LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS AND I’M SURE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY FAN THAT FEELS THIS WAY.
I’m sending this letter to every blog that I can find. Now get it together, stop his money, cancel his contract and get real.

Now isn’t that a sad commentary for taking action one way or the other for the almighty league. Ok its known Vick lied to the commissioner so its already been established he was involved. Start the consequences now in an effort to send a message and make a respected statement. Then ramp up the consequences when the findings increase or you are satisfied of the outsome. You already have enough information and evidence that some action can be taken. Start small and end big or lose repsect as a “lame duck” and hypocritical organization.

And let’s not forget, it’s the pitbulls who always get blamed isn’t it ? People are never accountable for anything. It’s always the DOG’s fault. Very sad state of affairs in this country.
