Norwood Ready to Become Next Star RB

RB Jerious Norwood will have a “Frank Gore” kind of season, Norwoodas he will put up close to 1,500 yards this season if Atlanta plays it smart by giving him the majority of the reps/plays/carries as the “Main” Running Back.   He will be leading the Falcons rushing attack, running the ball 75-80% of the time, drawing comparisons to former workhorse and Falcon standout “Dirty Bird” Jamal Anderson (Faster, more Speedier Version). He should be the their #1 Starter throughout the entire season, regardless of Warrick Dunn’s situation and recovery time from injury, as Atlanta should only use Dunn sparingly on third and longs, during passing downs.

He will make every team that passed on him in the ’06 Draft (3rd Rounder) regret their decision.  He can run you over and speed by you, making you miss, as he will have 3-4 touchdowns of over 50 yards, scoring 12 times this year.  He can beat you in a variety of many, different ways and give you a look of stardom for the nearby future.  The process of him making his way up to being a top-notch RB will be determined by his work ethic and taking advantage of golden opportunities to shine whether the spotlight is on him or not.  Norwood is the next best RB in the NFL (Top 10 at least after this season) and will showcase his skills becoming a weapon and threat to take it to the house every time he touches the football, going the full distance plenty of times in ‘07 – giving Falcon fans somebody to root for – something good/worthy to cheer for as he racks up the big yardage every Sunday en route to making his way to the end zone via the breakaway run, juke move, or broken tackle(s). Atlanta fans and the entire league better keep an eye on this rising star!!!

This former Mississippi State Bulldog has similar talents to that of Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis.  He is bigger and stronger than Portis, and will make sure defenses game plan around him in ’07, as defensive coaches change the way they approach Atlanta this season.  Norwood will catch everyone’s attention in Atlanta, stealing headlines and front-page news articles away from QB Mike Vick (hopefully).  This RB has what it takes to reach the next level as an elite RB in the NFL for years to come.  He will impress and warrant a trip to the Pro-Bowl after his breakout performance in 2007.  Memo to Falcons Owner:  Make sure you focus on what you have going for your team, not what is tearing apart the organization (what is behind you, that you cannot control).  The Falcons franchise needs to move to a new, fresh page and start building right now from the successful players they have on their roster and give RB Jerious Norwood a worthy shot at becoming the “new face” of the Atlanta Falcons.
