Falcons Make Final Roster Cuts

Saturday the Falcons released DE Paul Carrington, DT Darrell Shropshire and DT Tommy Jackson. Also let go included offensive linemen Frank Omiyale, P.J. Alexander, Bo Lacy and Kurt Quarterman, LBs Travis Williams and John Leake, DBs Tony Franklin and Brent Grimes, WR Noriaki Kinoshita, TEs Daniel Fells and George Cooper.  For now, Josh Mallard will take over as the backup right defensive end. The team also traded away former Pro Bowl kick returner Alan Rossum to the Steelers for an undisclosed 2008 draft choice.

    I was surprised to see them release Jason Snelling but maybe Artose Pinner is a better fit for their offense. Snelling was looking like a fantasy sleeper until he was released.
