Falcons switch long snappers; ink Schneck
Posted by Stephen Rhodes on October 2nd, 2007 filed in NewsThe Atlants Falcons switched long snappers on Tuesday, releasing tight end Boone Stutz and signing 2005 Pro Bowler center Mike Schneck. Schneck started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a Pro Bowl selection in 2005 while with the Buffalo Bills. Stutz signed with the Falcons last season and handled long snapping duties in 20 games.
Stutz’ fate was sealed last weekend during the Falcons’ win against the Houston Texans, when he double-clutched on the snap, allowing the Texans’ Dunta Robinson to block a field goal attempt by Falcons kicker Morten Andersen.
