Pit Bull In Vick Case To Be Put Down

Posted by Matt Loede on October 2nd, 2007 filed in Michael Vick Case

One pit bull among the nearly 50 dogs seized from Michael Vick’s property in Surry County will be put down.  A federal judge agrees with federal workers that the dog is too aggressive to study in detail.  The “Richmond Times-Dispatch” reports the other 49 animals will get a more extensive review to learn if they can be rehabbed and placed with new owners.  The 27-year-old Vick has pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy charge linked to dogfighting.  The quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons could get prison time when sentenced in December.  The former star at Virginia Tech is due for a hearing tomorrow on two dogfighting charges brought by prosecutors in Surry County.
