The Atlanta Falcons lost a very important component to their offensive line when they learned that offensive tackle Wayne Gandy will miss the remainder of the season. The team confirmed that Gandy tore the anterior cruciate ligament on Atlanta’s next-to-last offeensive play of their 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. He will need surgery for the injury in question.
Gandy has played in 212 out of 213 games in his 14th season; Renaldo Foster will take his place. In addition, the Falcons placed Gandy on the injured reserve list and signed offensive lineman Harvey Dahl from the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad; Dahl was signed to the team’s active roster.
