Brees Leads Saints Past Struggling Falcons

Drew Brees threw for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the New Orleans Saints outlasted the Atlanta Falcons, 22-16, at the Superdome. Brees completed 22-of-34 passes for New Orleans, which moved to 2-and-4. Reggie Bush ran for 54 yards and had five receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown. Byron Leftwich made his first start for the Falcons, and was 15-of-23 for 145 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with an apparent right knee injury. Harrington came on from there and finished 12-of-18 for 128 yards. Roddy White had eight receptions for 110 yards and a score for Atlanta, which dropped to 1-and-6.
