Falcons quarterback Byron Leftwich is out indefinitely with an ankle injury he suffered in Sunday’s 22-to-16 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Results from an MRI exam were not immediately released, but head coach Bobby Petrino says he hopes the QB can return at some point, but does not know when. The Falcons are off this weekend, but return to the Georgia Dome on November 4th to host San Francisco. Leftwich completed 15-of-23 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown before being carted off the field. Leftwich had recurring ankle injuries during his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being signed by the Falcons.
