Atlanta Falcons quarterback Joey HarringtonThe “mystery” of why Atlanta Falcons quarterback Byron Leftwich was replaced by Joey Harrington apparently has been solved.  For those who did not watch the game last weekend (I suspect not many people actually did watch), Leftwich was replaced in last weekend’s game between the Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of an injury.  The injury has been disclosed as a bruised tailbone, according to X-rays taken on Monday.

The injury makes Harrington the starter for Thursday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.  Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino refused to say whether Harrington would remain the starting QB for the remainder of the season; something he may want to consider is that when Leftwich started, Atlanta went 0-2.  Meanwhile, Harrington under center fared a little better, going 3-5, including a 2-game winjing streak.  So perhaps Petrino will consider that when he decides who his QB will be for thr rest of this season.
