Pair of Falcons out for season

The Atlanta Falcons are depleted further yet again on the defensive line, as the team announced that defensive tackles Rod Coleman and Trey Lewis are out for the remainder of the regular season. Coleman was injured during last Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; he injured his hand and triceps. Lewis, a rookie from Washburn University, suffered a knee injury that will require surgery.
To illustrate how depleted the Falcons are on their defensive line, they may use reserve defensive end Chauncey Davis on certain defensive alignments. Beginning this Thursday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, DT Jonathan Babineaux will replace Coleman while Montavious Stanley will take Lewis’ place on the D-line. To replace Coleman and Lewis on the Falcons’ roster, the team signed 2 defensive lineman: free agent DT Jesse Mahelona and former practice squad DE Kevin Huntley.
