Vick Supporters Hold Prayer Vigil

Posted by Matt Loede on December 5th, 2007 filed in Michael Vick Case

With about week to go before suspended quarterback Michael Vick is sentenced, a group of supporters gathered Monday night to pray for him.  About 40 people dressed in number-seven jerseys showed up at an Atlanta church.  Those who addressed the crowd said while they don’t condone Vick’s actions, they believe he has suffered enough and deserves a second chance.  Vick remains in a Virginia jail and could be sentenced from 12 to 18 months in prison on his guilty plea to running a dogfighting operation.  Last week, Vick’s co-defendant Quanis Phillips was sentenced to 21 months and Purnell Peace was sentenced to 18 months behind bars.
