Suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick, who pled guilty in August to a dogfighting charge, is being sentenced today in a Richmond, Virginia courtroom.  Federal sentencing guidelines call for a 12 to 18-month prison term.  Dan Shannon of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals hopes Judge Henry Hudson sticks to the high end of that recommendation.

Vick acknowledged participating in the dogfighting enterprise called Bad Newz Kennels, which operated out of his property in Surry County, Virginia.  Two co-defendants have already been sentenced to prison time.  The third faces sentencing Friday.
