Arkansas AD Refutes Petrino Charges By Falcons

Incoming Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long says the Falcons are misrepresenting the way former Falcons coach Bobby Petrino was hired by the school.  Long, who replaces outgoing AD Frank Broyles on January 1st, says he did not talk to Petrino until after the coach had left the Falcons.  Long insisted that it was only after paring down a list of potential coaches did he hear from Petrino’s representatives.  Also, he says Petrino resigned from the Falcons before he had been officially chosen as Arkansas head coach, and that there were no back-room deals.
