The love affair between the Falcons and Pete Carroll about their head coaching spot is apparently over. Today’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that even though Carroll and owner Arthur Blank did talk, the Falcons are no longer considering him for the open coaching position. New GM Tom Dimitroff is going to get the call to hire a new head coach, and his search will start in earnest right away. One guy that might have gotten an interview and been considered is Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, but he’s told the Falcons he’s not interested. A couple guys still on the list include Colts assistant coach Jim Caldwell, Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, and Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.
