Falcons and Giants in Trade Discussions for CB Hall

Hall

It sounds as if the Falcons and Giants are ready to pull off a blockbuster of a deal that would involve cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Today’s Newark Star-Ledger in New York is reporting that the Giants and Falcons are talking about a deal that would send Hall to New York for the Giants first-round draft pick (31st overall) in this April’s NFL Draft. Giants GM Jerry Reese would not comment on the rumor yesterday at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.

Hall is a solid corner that could thrive with a new club. He has clearly worn out his welcome with the Falcons, clashing with coaches and at one point during the past season drawing two personal foul calls on one drive in a game that the Falcons eventually lost to the Panthers at home early in the season. It was well known that Hall didn’t get along with now departed head coach Bobby Petrino, having to have more than one private discussion with the coach.

Nevertheless, that should not stop the Giants from looking to make this deal. They are in need of corner help as they look to defend their NFL title next fall, and Hall would be a great fit. Sure he and Tom Coughlin might not always see eye to eye, but being on a winning team sure would help the psyche of Hall, who has been a victim of the Falcons losing ways. Hall is still young at just 24, and has 17 picks over his four NFL seasons.

If the Giants do land Hall, look for them to tear up the final two years of his deal and for them to try and make sure he’s locked up in the Big Apple long-term. Hall is set to make $4.22 this season and $957,500 next year, though the Star-Ledger reports that year is voidable.

Hmmm. Seems like my favorite NFL team is at trading one of the best players in the league again. Please Arthur, give him another chance. Please Hall, give Atlanta another chance. At least give us ’til’ the draft Hall. Please don’t leave Atl. We need a shut down corner too. And haven’t had one since #21(Dieon Sanders) left Atlanta.

P.S Look at the history of the Falcons trading good players. Brett Farve…need I say more.

Witchett I completely agree. What is our team going to do without Hall. For heavens sake do we have to lose all of the teams big name players. It’s not looking to good for us. If Hall goes I think many fans will go. Something is going on that we obviously don’t know about.
