Falcons Get Help from Local TV Stations to Sell Out Opener

If you want to sit and home and watch the Falcons on Sunday at the Georgia Dome, you’ll be able to do it.  Falcons have announced that they have sold out the opener, thanks to a couple of local TV stations that purchased the remaning tickets for the game vs the Lions.  Stations WXIA-T, WATL-TV and Comcast brought the tickets and will donate them to Atlanta chapter of the American Red Cross, as well as the city’s boys and girls clubs.

The Red Cross is distributing its tickets to Hurricane Gustav evacuees in Atlanta and evacuation volunteer workers. “We’d like to thank our friends at WXIA-TV, WATL-TV and Comcast for helping us sell out Sunday’s game,” Falcons President Rich McKay said in a written statement released by the team. “We are always proud to partner with organizations that seek to improve our community in a positive way. Because of their generous support, many deserving people will have the opportunity to see the Falcons make their 2008 regular season debut.”
