Michael Vick will plead guilty to state charges of dog fighting in an attempt to get an early release from federal prison and enter a halfway house. According to paperwork filed in Virginia’s Surry County Circuit Court, Vick will enter his plea via a video linkup from the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Vick is serving two years in prison on federal charges connected to dog fighting. The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback needs to settle charges with the state before the feds allow him to move to a halfway house six months before his scheduled release in July. Vick hopes to return to the NFL in time for the start of next year’s season.
