According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, L.J. Smith is speaking with the Falcons today. L.J. Smith was the starting tight end for the Eagles last season but was plagued with injuries. As the 2009 season starts, he will have 231 career receptions for 2,525 yards and 18 touchdowns.
He averages more than 10-yards per catch but with the past couple seasons, he has not been himself due to surgery and injuries. L.J. would definetly be an upgrade for the Falcons as they have just mediocre tight ends. Not only will he be an upgrade on the field but off. He would help be a leader in the locker room as vets Keith Brooking and Lawyer Milloy have gone elsewhere. More on this as the day goes on.
