The Falcons waived CB David Irons on Tuesday, clearing a roster spot a few days in advance of training camp.
Irons, a third-year veteran, contributed almost exclusively on special teams in his two seasons in Atlanta. A sixth-round pick in 2007, he made 17 special teams tackles in 20 games.

Rick Bryan, an All-America defensive end at Oklahoma who played his entire NFL career with the Falcons, died Saturday. He was 47.
Bryan died at his home in Coweta, the Wright Funeral Home in Coweta said Monday. Former Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer said Bryan suffered congestive heart failure.
