Redman Not a Lock for the Falcons Backup QB Job

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Chris Redman is not a lock as the Falcons #2 QB:

Given the chance, Falcons coach Mike Smith would not name Chris Redman as his No. 2 quarterback. “I think it’s an open competition,” Smith said. “Chris has the most experience. Chris has played in games. But we are going through a true evaluation process and we want to stay true to that process. But Chris definitely has the most experience of the backup quarterbacks.” Third-year man D.J. Shockley and Alabama rookie John Parker Wilson are the other two quarterbacks in camp.

    2- Parker Wilson
    3- redman
    practice squad- shockley

  2. ryan says:

Wilson was only an average qb in college football, while redman, in 2007, was much better than average qb at the professional level.
