It was predominantly the Julio Jones show, with Jones doing most of the damage in the first half and finishing with 131 yards and 2 scores. The Colts seemed to key on Roddy White and Turner, leaving Jones to shred the Colts cover 2 to shreds. Michael Turner added 71 yards with a touchdown in this game, allowed to pick his spots as the Colts were on their heels most of the day.
More impressive was the Falcons secondary which limited Painter to 98 yards passing and only 186 total yards on the day. This was by far the Falcons most effective defensive display of the year, showing the potential this unit has.
I still would not depend on this showing as a display of what is to come. Atlanta did have the bye to prepare and the Colts suddenly seem unable to finish a drive. If we see this from Atlanta next week against the Saints then it will be a different story. Still, it was a step in the right direction and a win this team can build off of now that everyone is healthy.
