Cornerback Kelvin Hayden left Sunday’s game in the second quarter with a right foot injury. He tried to put some pressure on it as he reached the sidelines, but was not able to withstand the pain and was taken to the locker room on a golf cart. Third-year man Christopher Owens took over for Hayden and was quickly targeted.
Owens ended up leading the Falcons with seven tackles against the Titans. If Hayden’s injury is severe, Owens will slide back into the nickel position, a spot that he’s had trouble holding down over the past two seasons.
