LB Curtis Lofton Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton has been named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Lofton had 14 tackles and returned an interception 26 yards for a touchdown in the Falcons’ 45-24 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

The 2008 second-round pick out of Oklahoma has a team-high 147 tackles with a quarterback sack and a career-high two interceptions this season. Lofton has led the Falcons in tackles in each of the last three seasons and will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.
