Falcons Come to Terms with RB Jason Snelling

The Falcons have agreed to terms on a contract extension with running back Jason Snelling.

Terms were not disclosed.

A 2007 seventh-round pick out of Virginia, the 5-foot-11, 229-pound Snelling has 301 carries for 1,193 yards with seven touchdowns and 108 receptions for 830 yards and five touchdowns out of the backfield during his five-year career with the Falcons.

Snelling was a free agent after last year’s lockout and made free agent visits to the New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs before returning to the Falcons on a one-year deal worth $1 million, all of which in the form of base salary. In 15 games, Snelling had 44 carries for 151 yards with 26 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown as the No. 2 back behind Michael Turner.
