Falcons Announce First Wave of Roster Cuts/Injury Settlements

The Falcons took just under 24 hours from kickoff Friday to sundown Saturday to announce the first wave of roster cuts of the 2012 season.

In all the Falcons cut loose five offensive players, four defensive players and one kicker.

Tight ends Aron White and Chase Coffman, fullback Lee Meisner, running back Richard Medlin and wide receiver Kenny Stafford were all informed of their dismissal from camp earlier today, with Coffman being the first to have his release made public.

Also cut were linebacker Max Gruder and defensive end Louis Nzegwu.

The Falcons also reached injury settlements with two players.

Defensive tackle Elisha Joseph (concussion) and cornerback Darrin Walls (leg) were both compensated.

Kicker Erik Folk was also cut, leaving the Falcons with 77 men on the active roster.

By 4PM Monday, that total must be down to 75.
