Falcons Bring Back Franks, Waive Injured Receiver Toone

Less than a week after being a surprise cut from camp, Dominique Franks has returned to the Atlanta Falcons. Franks officially rejoined the Falcons late last night when receiver Tim Toone was waived with an injury.
Since being cut last week, Franks had attended workouts with the Pittsburgh, Miami and week one opponent Kansas City.
A two year NFL veteran out of Oklahoma, Franks has seen time in the Falcons’ DB rotation as while as in the punt and kick return game. Franks and Toone had battled for the return job in camp, and it would appear now that Franks will begin the year first on the depth chart.
“It’s always good to be able to come back and reunite with the guys and the coaches,” said Franks.
“There are no hard feelings at all.”
The injury to Toone brings the Falcons down to only four active wide receivers, though Drew Davis and Marcus Jackson are both on the practice squad.
