Safety Chris Hope Fined $30,000 for Hit on Cruz

Safety Chris Hope was fined $30,000 by the NFL after leveling Giants receiver Victor Cruz during the third quarter of Sunday’s game.

Hope received a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on the play, and the league fined him for striking an opponent in the head and neck area.

Cruz was checked by trainers after the play, an incomplete pass to Cruz, but did not suffer a concussion. After the game, Cruz said he did not think it was a dirty hit, saying, “He doesn’t strike me personally as a dirty player, so I wouldn’t say that.
