Division Rivals Face Off On Thursday Night Football

This season began with lofty expectations for the Atlanta Falcons after making it to the NFC Championship game last season, but they have fallen way short of those goals and sit at 2-8 as we enter Week 11. The same could not be said about their opponent this week, the New Orleans Saints, who have been dominating opponents as they are 8-2 on the year with the return of head coach Sean Payton and new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Drew Brees has been playing fantastic and has the Saints ranking as the second best passing team in the league but it has been Ryan who has brought the biggest impact to this team as he has whipped this defense into shape. The Saints now have the 5th best defense and are surrendering less than 20 points per game, a huge improvement on last season when they couldn’t stop anyone.

The Falcons have been decimated by injuries this year losing Pro-Bowler Julio Jones for the season among others but the biggest reason for their substandard play has been the lack of a running game and a porous defense which has given up the fourth most points to opposing teams this season. Despite all the adversity facing the team Matt Ryan has continued to play great and has really proven that he is the leader of the team by keeping everyone together and not turning into a team that self destructs.

While this game might not be the feature match up that it was expected to be when the schedules first came out it will still be one of the more exciting Thursday night games of the season when these two high powered offenses square off. Falcons tickets for this meeting are averaging $132 per person with a low Get-in cost of just $35.
