Even with an unexpected slow season for the Atlanta Falcons, it wasn’t all bad. The Falcons should be happy with their 2013 first round draft pick from his rookie season. Cornerback Desmond Trufant has been named to the All-Rookie Team by the Professional Football Writers of America.
Trufant finished the season with 73 total tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and one fumble recovery, Trufant also recorded 17 pass breakups which ranked tied for tenth in the league and set a franchise rookie record. Trufant was named to rookie honors by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., Pro Football Focus, and SB Nation.
