The Atlanta Falcons fell off the map in 2014, dropping down from a team that was a fourth down play away from a trip to the Super Bowl, to a 4-12 team searching for answers. Injuries and poor line play on both sides of the ball contributed heavily, though, and the proper adjustments (and good health) should have the Falcons rebounding in a big way in 2014.
Atlanta will need to be sure to protect their house better than they did a year ago, however. Usually a tough out in their dome, the Falcons were just 3-5 on their home field last year and will have to go through the Bears, Lions, Cardinals, Browns, Steelers and the NFC South to get it done.
The Atlanta Falcons schedule away from home isn’t a picnic, either, as they’ll head to Green Bay, Minnesota, Baltimore, Cincinnati and New York to take on the Giants. The Falcons were even worse on the road in 2013 (1-7), so they’ll need to really step up their game to post a winning mark in 2014.
