Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan Addresses Possible Head Coaching Rumors

Kyle Shanahan

Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has been at the top of rumors to possibly be in line for a higher coaching job, either with a team already looking (the Rams) or possibly a team that will be looking for a new coach once the season ends.

Today the media asked Shanahan about the rumors, and how he feels about being at or near the top of the wish list of some teams that may have an opening come January 2nd or sooner.

“Very flattering to be asked that question,” Shanahan said on Thursday. “It’s not hard to block out because we have a lot of stuff to do.

“I’ve kind of learned over the years good or bad that I do a pretty good job blocking it out because it doesn’t do you good either way.”

The Falcons are in a dogfight for the division, and with three games to play they are tied with the Buccaneers for the top spot in the division at 8-5.

Shanahan knows there is plenty to do and right now he’s putting any rumors about coaching aside.

“I appreciate people saying that stuff but I’ve learned in this league nothing comes good unless you take care of your business, and we have a lot of ways to go in this season.”
