Devonta Freeman Will Play Sunday vs Steelers Says Falcons Coach Dan Quinn

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn confirmed Thursday that running back Devonta Freeman will suit up for the Week 5 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.

Freeman has missed the last three games recovering from a knee injury but has said he feels “good” and “explosive”. It is possible the Falcons keep him on somewhat of a pitch count with Freeman as the 1A RB to Tevin Coleman’s 1B and there are concerns that the knee injury could be an issue all season.

But with the Falcons sitting at 1-3 despite a potent offense and desperately in need a win to keep from falling out of contention in the very competitive NFC South even this early in the season, they need Freeman on the field for whatever reps he can give them.
