Falcons Find No Takers Over the Weekend for Vick

vick
The shopping around of QB Michael Vick continued over the draft weekend for the Falcons, and reports are they found no takers. Word is the Falcons were willing to give up the former first-round QB for a 7th round pick, and it didn’t happen.

The issue may not even be the pick, it may be that Vick is due to make a base salary of $9 million upon his return to the NFL. So a new deal would have to be in place with his new team. Still at the end of the day some team is going to take a risk on Vick, and when they do, it’s going to be a PR nightmare for that club.

I don’t think any team will “follow through” with picking him up. The first time it is leaked to the press that they are even considering it, they will be overwhelmed by huge numbers of emails and phone calls, demanding they re-think that idea. It happened to San Fran, it happened to the NY Jets, and it will happen to any team that considers picking this monster up.

Michael has paid a ‘DEAR PRICE” for his crime. This IS America we forgive, the PR nightmare will not exist. There will always have a few who will protest, however, it will have nothing to do with FOOTBALL or the CRIME…..Michael could have donated 2.6 million dollars to the POPE, there is no doubt in my mind there would be protesters.
