Status of WR Mike Jenkins still up in the air for Sunday

WR Michael Jenkins was the only player not to practice on Thursday for Atlanta, marking the second straight day he was absent. Coach Mike Smith is unsure of Jenkins’ status for Sunday against the Steelers, but has him listed as a starter opposite Roddy White.

On Sunday, he takes the field against a defense that allowed 215.4 passing yards per game in 2009. The Steelers defense got shredded down the stretch in 2009 as the team was missing safety Troy Polamalu, who will be on the field Sunday. That’s not a player Jenkins wants to see, especially coming off injury and the bone-crunching hits Polamalu provides.
