Falcons Owens Says He Didn’t Damage Ex-Girl’s Apartment

In papers filed with Superior Court of Gwinnett County, Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens denies damaging his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and seeks to have a protective order filed against him dismissed, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Latia Perry has accused Owens of entering her apartment, punching holes the walls, destroying electronic devices, and dousing her jewelry and designer clothes with bleach, causing an estimated $15,000 worth of damage.

Owens, who claims to have been paying for the apartment, denies those claims, and in the filing, adds that Perry has contacted him this week and slandered him on the Internet.

“He’s been a good Dad,” Randall M. Kessler, Owens’ attorney, said on Friday. “He plans to keep being a good dad. He denies all of the claims.”

A third-round pick out of San Jose State in 2009, Owens has started nine of his 32 career regular season games, totaling 69 tackles and three interceptions.
